Maldah is often called Gour Maldah. Gour the place of remnants of the architecture and remnants of the creations of kings and Nwababs of Bengal. Other places of interests are Dakhil Darwaja, Firoz Minar, Chamkati Minar, Adina Mosque, Adina Museum, Eklakho Mausoleum (Pandua), Kadam Rasul Mosque, Maldah is famous of its huge mango orchards.
